Stephanie Meyer addressed whether or not Breaking Dawn (like the final Harry Potter film) will be divided into two films via a comment on her personal website:
January 12, 2010 Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I've said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I'm all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I've spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We're all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip gets fabricated to stir things up, but there's no basis to this particular story.

I think that's going to be awesome. I just hope that when they do decide on the future of a film for BD that they don't screw it up. And GIVE JASPER MORE LINES!!! *bangs head to wall* poor Jasper! ANYWHO.... I've heard the rumor floating around so we'll see within time whether or not it'll be verified. I'm sure that after another month or so when Eclipse has been promoting their commercials we'll get the "Yes/No" factor from Summit Entertainment. However, we may not get to see BD for awhile 'cause I'm sure that the actors/resses would like a little bit of a break from the Twilight Saga so they could work on other projects. But that's just my thought on it.

Actually we'll be seeing Breaking Dawn at the end of the year! Pretty darn soon, if you ask me. They've already started filming in secure (and secret, sadly) locations about a day or two ago. Of course, with the earthquake in Haiti, I doubt that they got much done.
If it's not out by December, it's promised that the film (at least the first half) will be out at the beginning of 2011 whereas the second half of the film (should they decide to cut it into two movies) will either follow directly after, or have a short period in between to raise anticipation.
Can't wait, either way they go. =]

Oh that will be awesome! I wonder who they're getting to play Renesmee! I can't wait to see how they filmed THAT, lol. If they don't have it by Christmas, then that's fine 'cause they've got the first half of Harry Potter 7 coming out this Christmas too. So it should be fun
