Jane is a very sadistic person in general. She was chosen by Aro the leader of the Volturi, for her talents in torturing others. She enjoys working for the Volturi and is especially close to Aro as he has been her teacher over the many years they've been together. She enjoys inflicting pain on others and creating chaos wherever she roams. Yet despite her evil sadistic pattern, she still seems to have a close relationship to her brother "Alec".

Jane was a very special person even in her mortal years. The Volturi had been keeping taps on her and her brother Alec, that seemed to show great potential for being used for the Volturi's purposes. It is unknown as to who their parents were, and when they were of a decent age, the Volturi invited Jane and Alec to their coven and promised them a grand adventure of torture and pain against their enemies.

The siblings agreed so long as they were able to be together, and since then they have become closer and gained respect among the Volturi and Vampire world with their unique abilities. Over the years, Jane became more sadistic and evil than the Volturi could ever dream of and they've been grateful ever since that she has joined their coven.

Jane and Alec had been practicing their powers, even though they had them down pact, on various employees of the Volturi out of sheer boredom. She was growing weary and needed something to do before she broke from her coven to venture on her own for awhile. Every now and then Jane got the desire to leave and use her abilities to her own advantage. She knew though, that if she did, Aro would be the first to know about it and have her tied up or killed instantly.

With this in mind, she went to Aro herself and pleaded with him. "Allow me to go to America. To check on our fellow Cullen family. I think it is time to see how they've progressed since last we saw them". she stated to Aro. Aro looked down on her with thoughtful eyes. "Ahh it would be good to see Carlisle. I miss him being here at court. He has such a unique mind that intrigues me." he replied. Jane looked at him with a grin, "I take it that is a yes?" she said with maliciousness in her eyes. Aro nodded in agreement, "Felix and I shall go with you." he stated and informed the other members of the Volturi at once. At last, Jane would get the ability to test her powers on Bella again. She hated that mortal, no VAMPIRE now, that she was immune to her powers. That did not happen often, and it infuriated her to no ends.
